- Nepal is committed to submitting an enhanced NDC by 2020 as well as an ambitious long-term strategy, committing to significant cuts in carbon emissions and reaching net-zero by 2050, based on availability of international financial and technical support.
- Climate change and poverty eradication are at the centre of Nepal’s development goals. Nepal will focus its efforts to create economic growth and new jobs by using clean technology, clean transport, forests, adaptation and resilience, and climate finance
- Nepal calls for a collective move for a fairer, greener and more resilient economy worldwide. The cost of transitioning to low-carbon, climate resilient societies is great and the scale of irreversible loss and damage is growing. The scale and flow of climate finance must grow to meet the needs of the most vulnerable.
